Brahmi is Bacopa monnieri, a small creeping marsh plant found across wetlands in India. The whole herb is used. Be aware that the name brahmi is also applied in parts of India to gotu kola (Centella asiatica), which is a different plant — Biosash's own listing names bacopa, which is the standard reading.

Its traditional use is squarely cognitive: memory, learning and mental calm. It is one of the few Ayurvedic herbs with reasonably designed modern trials behind it, several of which have looked at memory in older adults over periods of around twelve weeks. The effects reported are real but modest.

What it is doing in these products

It is the basis of the memory formulation and appears in the stress one. Where a product here is aimed at the mind, brahmi rather than sea buckthorn is doing the work.
