What sea buckthorn juice is

Juice is the whole pressed fruit: pulp compounds, water-soluble vitamins, the berry's own organic acids, and the pulp oil that carries the omega 7. Biosash's plain juice is stated at 99.9% pulp with no added sugar, which is why it is sharply sour and why it is the reference product the whole range is built around.

It is the cheapest way to take sea buckthorn daily. At the stated 10 ml morning and evening, a 750 ml bottle runs about five weeks.

Plain, or formulated

The range splits in two. The plain juice is sea buckthorn and nothing else. The formulated juices take that same base and add Ayurvedic herbs aimed at one area — Arjuna bark for the heart in Cardiosash, giloy for immunity in Giloysash, kutki and bhumi amla for the liver in Livosash.

If you have no particular complaint, buy the plain juice. The formulations cost more and are worth it only when you specifically want what has been added.

How to take it

Ten millilitres in a glass of water, morning and evening, about twenty minutes before meals. Always dilute it — neat, it is unpleasant and it is acidic enough to be unkind to tooth enamel. Refrigerate once opened and finish within a month.

What to look for on a label

Pulp percentage rather than "100% natural", cold pressing rather than heat extraction, and an opaque bottle rather than clear plastic. A sea buckthorn juice that tastes pleasant straight from the bottle has almost certainly been sweetened or diluted.
