Bhumi amla is Phyllanthus niruri, a small herb that grows as a weed through much of India, named "ground gooseberry" for the tiny fruit along the underside of its leaves. It is not the same plant as amla (Phyllanthus emblica), the fruit.
Its traditional use is the liver, and it is among the Ayurvedic herbs with the most modern research interest for that, including work on viral hepatitis. Results across studies are mixed.
What it is doing in these products
It is in the liver formulations alongside kutki, giloy and triphala — a conventional Ayurvedic grouping for this purpose.
